The Dick Van Dyke Show
Rob Petrie is the head writer for the television sketch comedy, the Alan Brady Show, starring the egotistical Alan Brady. Rob's appointment started off as being a controversial one, especially to his two co-writers, the more experienced Buddy Sorrell and Sally Rogers, who end up becoming his friends regardless. Rob has to balance his New York City work life with his New Rochelle home life with wife Laura Petrie, who he met while he was in the army and she a dancer with a USO troupe, and their young son Ritchie. Although largely content in her roles as housewife and mother, Laura on occasion aspires to her former dancer life, which places added complications into the marriage.

The Beverly Hillbillies
Meet the Clampett clan: There's Jed, the kind, intelligent patriarch (although lacking formal education) turned into an overnight millionaire through a stroke of luck. While he appears to be in a state of retirement, he is still frequently kept busy by trying to keep his family out of trouble and make peace with his neighbors. Then there is Granny, the matriarch of the clan who is mature, highly opinionated, paranoid of new-fangled ways and things. She considers herself to be highly educated (a self-proclaimed Doctor of Hillbilly Medicine) and has difficulty understanding why anyone doubts her wisdom. Then there is Elly May; beautiful, but awkwardly naive. Apparently in her late teens or early twenties, she is considered an 'Old Maid' by the standards of her culture back in the mountains of her childhood. Last but definitely not least, there is Jethro Bodine, the somewhat slow-witted nephew of Jed. He is constantly attempting to find a girlfriend by impressing them with his education (elementary school) and imaginary skills as a 'Secret Agent'. Other recurring characters are Mr. Drysdale, a greedy banker who will do anything to keep the Clampett money in his bank; and "Miss Jane" Hathaway, the overworked under-appreciated secretary of Mr. Drysdale.

Dennis the Menace
The live-action adaptation of the Hank Ketcham comic strip of the same name. Dennis Mitchell was a loveable young boy, dressed in overalls and carrying a slingshot in his pocket. Everywhere he went, Dennis' wide-eyed curiosity, well-meaning attempts to help out, and his simply being a normal, red-blooded American boy growing up always seemed to lead to trouble. Usually on the receiving end was Dennis' next-door neighbor, retired business machine salesman George Wilson. Dennis worshiped Mr. Wilson, but he usually displayed a less-than-cordial attitude around the young lad. Mr. Wilson's wife, Martha, adored Dennis and saw him as a surrogate grandson (since the Wilsons never had any children). Dennis' long-suffering parents were Henry (an engineer) and Alice (a stay-at-home mother). Episodes revolved around Dennis' adventures and the trouble that usually followed. Also involved in the fun were Dennis' friends Tommy, Margaret, and Seymour. During the final year of the show, Mr. Wilson's brother, John, moved in after George and Martha left the neighborhood (due to the death of Joseph Kearns). The live-action "Dennis the Menace" ran for years in syndication; an animated series showed up in the 1980s.

The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
Sensitive teenager Dobie Gillis exasperates his grocer father Herbert T. Gillis and is the apple of his mother Winnie Gillis' eye. Dobie has an almost singular focus on the opposite sex, the main object of his affection being the beautiful but money-hungry Thalia Menninger, who in turn often loves Dobie but always loves money more, which Dobie never has and in his current life direction probably will never have to the extent that would satisfy Thalia. Dobie pursues several other girls in his search for true love. His best friend is Maynard G. Krebs, a largely clueless but kind-hearted beatnik and jazz-music lover who always does what his best buddy does, often to the chagrin of others in Dobie's life. While Dobie chases girls, the one girl he knows he does not want, but who knows that one day she will become Mrs. Dobie Gillis, is bright Zelda Gilroy, who largely uses logic to convince Dobie that she is the girl for him.

ALF

Unsure what to do, they name him ALF: Alien Life Form. Alf soon decides that as much as he misses his home planet, there's a lot to be said for Earth: the Tanners are willing to concede anything as long as he doesn't announce his presence. Oh yeah, the Tanners also have a cat, which looks rather tasty...

Dinotopia
Half-brothers Karl, a born rebel, and David, the more curious and scholarly of the two young men, are flying a small airplane over the ocean with their rich father. The plane gets caught in a storm and crash-lands near an uncharted island. Trapped in the sinking plane wreck, the father orders the boys to abandon him and save themselves. The two manage to swim safely to shore where they meet Cyrus, the local misanthropic pariah who holds a serious grudge against the islanders. He informs them that the island is called Dinotopia as both humans, who have reached spiritual, philosophical and intellectual enlightenment here a long time ago, and dinosaurs, who somehow survived here and evolved into sentient talking dinos with human intelligence, live there together in utopian pacifist harmony, save for the carnivores. The boys travel to the island's capital, where they meet Mayor Waldo and his disciplined, orderly, caring and quite lovely scholarly daughter, Marion, who along with the senate helps her father and her mother, Matriarch Rosemary, run the island in peace, love and understanding. She gladly agrees to show the boys around and introduce them to Dinotopia's peoples and culture. A young, friendly, overly enthusiastic, English-speaking dino-scholar and troodon named Zipeau also befriends the two and eagerly agrees to welcome them into his own home until they can find their place in this amazing society, mostly resembling a highly advances version of Europe's medieval civilization. However, once the boys' learn that there actually is no way off the island because of the underwater reefs and storms that surround it, their individualistic personalities quickly clash with the more collectivist mindset of the islanders. While rebellious Karl plans to leave the island no matter what and find out what happened to their father, David is much more open to the idea of joining the Dinotopian society but rather disagrees with their decision to have him join the skybax riders, a unit of elite Pteranodon fliers that represent Dinotopia's main defense force and are led by the no-nonsense air commander Oonu. However, Cyrus approaches Karl claiming that a way out does exist but only if he gets him the necessary artifacts to chart the course out of there. The boys also learn that the incredibly powerful Sunstones, which serve as Dinotopia's only real power source but also represent the only thing that's keeping the carnivores away, are failing all over the island and only the forbidden ancient ruins of underwater dino temple may hold the key to Dinotopia's salvation.

She holds onto the store for dear life, for her mother Meg Carroll's sake, for the one tangible thing she has left of her now deceased father, and to preserve the only life she has ever known in Quinton - but now the bank has sent a letter of foreclosure on the business. It being early in the Christmas season, Wendy, with her young daughter Grace Carroll, moves to Los Angeles until Christmas, staying with her hometown friend Angie (who moved there to pursue a musical theater career) to find a seasonal job to earn enough money to stave off the business going under. Angie is able to get Wendy's foot in the door at Wolman's Department Store, where she has her day job. Run by its founder Harry Wolman and his nephew Tom, Wolman's is an old-fashioned business built on family values, treating staff truly like members of their family. Wendy is quickly hired while Grace spends her days in the in-store day care center. Much of the Wolman family's values are under the gun as it is not doing well financially. Its Board of Directors has hired retail consultant Teanna Musk for the Christmas season to turn the store's financial fortunes around. Nicknamed Cruella by the store's staff, Teanna has no sentiment toward traditional Christmas values, only looking at the bottom line. Beyond being a directive by the Board, Tom feels he has to abide by Teanna's decisions because she also holds the purse strings for a much needed investor. No one is aware that Teanna has ulterior motives, landing Tom as her man en route to pulling off a corporate take-over. As such, she has to get rid of Wendy, for whom Tom seems to have eyes (and visa versa).
