Beautiful Girl
Feeling comfortable and happy in her own skin is literally in Becca Wasserman's DNA, that trait and the associated chutzpah passed down from her supportive mother Amanda and Amanda's mother, Becca's Nana. Becca tries to instill a sense of being oneself in her fourth-grade students, who idolize celebrities and models and sometimes try to be people they aren't. It is all these traits that made Becca's fiancé, karaoke-bar owner Adam Lopez, fall in love with her. When she runs into high-school adversary Libby Leslie, who is now entering the local Pittsbrugh beauty-pageant circuit, Becca--like Adam, short on funds for their wedding--decides to enter the Squirrel Hill neighborhood beauty pageant to win the associated trip to Hawai'i for their honeymoon--despite being a short, plus-sized woman instead of the stereotypical beauty-pageant Barbie doll. For the first time in their lives, Amanda can't support Becca in this venture, fearing that she'll be hurt by those Barbies and their entourages ridiculing her. But as Becca goes through the process, she begins to lose sight of the reason she is doing it in trying to be just like the "Barbies" around her.

There the trio suspects Allen and Flood's cohorts, Gibson (Sidney Blackmier) and Homer Gerard (Arthur Loft), are about to pull the same swindle on Don Carlos Alvarado (Julian Rivero), a wealthy, well-respected citizen of San Ramon who has agreed to finance the swindlers' movie in exchange for a role in the film for his daughter Maria Elena (Fay McKenzie). She falls in love with Gene who warns her about the dishonest promoters. Members of the Funeral
The suicide of a bright schoolboy, 17-year-old Hee-Joon, stirs extreme responses from those left behind. This clever, intriguing feature keeps us guessing about the truth behind the flashbacks. It includes a young girl transfixed by taxidermy, a predatory sports teacher who bonds rather too closely with his male students, and a literature teacher with a violent response to poor writing. Then there are members of a family and the leading characters in Hee-Joon's novel. The result is an emotional puzzle with a dark sense of fun. A wayward South Korean gem - at once funny, macabre, and mysterious.

Cannes Man
The Cannes Film Festival. It's where deals get made, producers get laid, and stars get paid. It's where all the movie industry meets to buy and sell all the movies on the planet. And it's where the art of the deal can be filled with more laughs than the deal itself. Sy Lerner, the quintessential movie producer, makes a bet that he can take any kid off the street and turn him into a superstar overnight using the universal language of the festival: hype. He meets Frank Rhinoslavsky and turns him into "Frank Rhino, one of the hottest screenwriters to hit Cannes since Faulkner and Hemingway". It's not long before celebrities and producers are lining up to meet this hot young star. Dennis Hopper, Treat Williams, Johnny Depp, John Malkovich, and more, all want to meet the "next Quentin Tarantino". Sy charms them with his own particular blend of hype and substance, and by the end of the festival he has lined up one of the great casts of all time. But Sy Lerner still has a few tricks up his sleeve for his wife, Frank Rhino, and the myriad of people who have invested in this nonexistent, non-scripted film: He drops dead. All the money the invested in his film goes up in smoke. But in the end, Sy Lerner has pulled the ultimate con, making him truly the one and only "Cannes Man".
