Zoey Deutch is the latest to join Ryan Murphy's first Netflix series The Politician.

Theactress was added to the roster with Dear Evan Hansen star Laura Dreyfuss, Lucy Boynton (Sing Street) and newcomer Rahne Jones, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series is Murphy's first for the streaming service after leaving his creative home at Fox studios last year for an exclusive deal with Netflix. Deutch has been making a name for herself in the teen movie circuit but recently upped her profile with the rom-com Set It Up, also at Netflix.

Character descriptions for the four new series regulars are being kept under wraps, but The Politician stars Tony-winner Ben Platt (also Dear Evan Hansen) as Payton, a wealthy, politically-active Santa Barbara resident. Musical numbers are expected to be involved, which makes it even more exciting that Dreyfuss has been added to the cast. Gwyneth Paltrow and Barbra Streisand have also already signed on to the show.

Netflix picked up The Politician for a two-season order off the bat, with each season focusing on a different political race that Payton is part of.

Murphy will serve as writer, showrunner and exec producer on The Politician, which will launch globally on Netflix next year. Production begins later this summer.
