What took TV so long to come up with this?
In "Why didn't anyone think of this earlier?" news, former One Direction heartthrob (well, one of them anyway) Zayn Malik and Law & Order head honcho Dick Wolf are teaming up for a boy band drama at NBC, Deadline reports. Yes, you read that correctly, and yes, we've already set our DVRs.
The project, tentatively title Boys (of course), will follow the formation of a massively popular boy band a la One Direction, Backstreet Boys or even O-Town, and all the rock-star luxuries that come with it. But Boys will also take time to examine the pressure that comes with being successful overnight.

Malik continues to prove that his abrupt departure from One Direction last year, at the time the world's biggest boy band, was a smart move. His 2016 solo album Mind of Mine reached the top of the charts in seven countries, and if Boys takes off, it will put him in the exciting world of television production.
For Wolf, it's more of the same. Boys extends Wolf's relationship with NBC, where he already has five series.
