This is the best news of summer
Summer may be quickly winding down, but here's some news to keep you feeling beachy for the rest of the year: Zac Efron will star alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the upcoming film version of Baywatch.
The project, based on the popular '90s television show, has been in development for years, but is scheduled to start production early next year. Last month, Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) came on board to direct.
The movie will follow a no-nonsense lifeguard (Johnson) who's forced to work with a young hotshot (Efron) to protect their beach from an oil tycoon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Johnson shared Efron's casting news on Twitter Monday, welcoming his young co-star aboard.
