Yvonne Craig, who originated the role of Batgirl, has died at the age of 78, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Craig died of breast cancer that had metastasized in her liver on Mondaynight at her home in Pacific Palisades, Calif., her nephew Christopher Carson said.

Craig, a former ballerina, joined ABC's Batmanseries in its final season and did all of her own stunts and motorcycle riding during her 26-episode tenure.

The actress also starred opposite Elvis Presley, whom she briefly dated, in It Happened at the World's Fair and Kissin' Cousins. Her other television credits include The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, The Six Million Dollar Man, Kojak, The Wild Wild West and Star Trek, in which she memorably played an Orion Slave Girl who tried to kill Captain Kirk.

In addition to acting, Craig worked as a real estate broker and produced prepaid phone cards with her sister Meridel.

Craig is survived by husband Kenneth, sister Meridel and nephews Christopher and Todd.
