As previously announced, Brown will play the assistant to Oscar (Matthew Perry); however, her character will now be a regular rather than recurring.

Brown announced her departure from Community earlier this week, saying she requested out of her contract so that she could spend more time caring for her father, who is ill. "My dad needs daily care and he needs me," Brown told TV Guide Magazine. "The idea of being away 16 hours a day for five months, I couldn't do it. It was a difficult decision for me to make, but I had to choose my dad."

Unlike the single-camera CommunityThe Odd Couple is a multi-camera sitcom with a more flexible shooting schedule that Brown describes as "a better fit for the life I have now."

The Odd Couple, which will premiere midseason, also stars Thomas Lennon,Wendell Pierce and Lindsay Sloane. Do you plan to watch it?
