Freeform decided not to go forward with the project
It's been a rough summer for Young & Hungry fans, but there is a small silver lining.
Series star Emily Osment revealed via tweet that Freeform is not moving ahead with the Young & Hungry finale movie that was supposed to give fans Gabbi (Osment) and Josh's (Jonathan Sadowski) happy ending. The last thing fans saw was the Season 5 finale cliffhanger when Gabbi proposed and asked Josh to move to Seattle with her for her new job, unsure if he'd be willing to follow her.
Young & Hungry to End After Season 5
Osment's tweet offered an apology for the lack of closure from her and her "obvious future TV husband" Sadowski -- meaning that the plan was for Gabbi and Josh to finally tie the knot after five seasons of back and forth about being together. The sad part is that fans won't get to see Gabbi freaking out over what flavor the wedding cake should be or what insane hijinx Josh got into with last minute cold feet before making a grand romantic gesture before walking down the aisle. Plus what was Yolanda (Kym Whitley) going to wear to the ceremony?
It breaks my heart to tell you that in addition to @FreeformTV not giving our Young & Hungry audience the ending our show deserved, they have ALSO decided to not go forward with a full length film. From me and my obvious future tv hubby @sadowski23 we love you and we're sorry.

Young & Hungry premiered in the summer of 2014 and ran for four years on Freeform.
