If you thought Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) fromYOU was a strange lurker-type before, wait 'til you get a load of the guy without those batty inner monologues filling in the gaps of his oft-one-sided conversations with Beck (Elizabeth Lail).

Netflix has released a new voiceover-stripped video of a few key scenes -- yes, even that humiliating first bedroom encounter -- and it shows just how hilariously uncomfortable his radio silence is for everyone he interacts with. Even though we know he's thinking many, many things during all of these exchanges, without the benefit of that narration, he looks legitimately zombified. The fact that he's got such a stern poker face, too, means that he's giving almost no reaction whatsoever to people as they talk to him.

Everything We Know About YOU Season 2

No wonder Peach Salinger (Shay Mitchell) pegged him as a creeper first thing. He's a downright dud without all those hectic mental meanderings spilling out for audiences to hear.

Besides being hysterical, this clip should also help to clear up that unhealthy crush your best pal has developed on Joe Goldberg, so it's a win-win. In other news, who else has the sudden urge to re-watch YOU with the mute button at the ready to experience more of this fresh perspective of the show? Who knew YOU could be so funny.

YOU is available to stream on Lifetime.
