Ladies and gentlemen, it's official: WWE wrestling is fake.

Connecticut U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon, trying to quell voter concerns about her old job as the CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, admits in a new ad that it wasn't a "regular job" — and also says that the wrestling "isn't real."

That sound you hear is grown men all over the country weeping.

In the ad, the Republican described WWE wrestling as a "soap opera that entertains millions every week," showing footage of herself in the ring with the organization's star wrestlers.

A WWE rep says the network has maintained since the mid 1990s that its programming is "scripted entertainment."
