Christopher Robin's toys are coming to life!
That was always the premise of the Winnie the Pooh series, but Disney is making it true: The beloved children's animated film will be made into a live-action film.
According to Variety, the adaptation will be about a grown-up Christopher Robin. We see Toy Story-esque tears in our future.
Writer-director Alex Ross Perry pitched the idea to Disney studios, and they subsequently hired him to write the script.
In the past two years, Cinderella and Sleepy Beauty have both found success as live-action adaptations. Disney's not new to the game: 101 Dalmatians, Alice in Wonderland, and The Jungle Book have all undergone the transformation from animated movies to live films, to varying success.
Disney has also said Beauty and the Beast and Dumbo will be getting live-action remakes at some point in the future.
