Following the announcement Willa Holland would be departing The CW's Arrow after portraying Thea Queen for six seasons, Holland's co-star and Arrow's leading man Stephen Amell has stepped forward to voice his support of her decision to depart the series.

Speaking to TV Line, Holland's on-screen brother said, "Willa was nothing short of professional and excellent, and always delivered tremendous performances. But I know that she wanted to move on with her career. And I totally respect that. And I'm glad that she's going to get that opportunity."

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim previously told the site that Holland's departure had been in the works since the show's fourth season, at the actress' request. So, the exit wasn't exactly speedy, if you know what we mean.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.

(Full Disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, one of The CW's parent companies.)
