Will Ferrell Didn't Do "Celebrity Jeopardy" on SNL and Twitter Was Furious

I'll take "Angry Fan Mob" for $800, Alex

Although Will Ferrell did make sure his latest Saturday Night Live hosting stint included the revival of his beloved George W. Bush impression, there were a few oldies-but-goodies from his reliable SNL repertoire that didn't make it into the night's slate of skits, much to fans' collective chagrin.

One such sketch was "Celebrity Jeopardy," the semi-regular segment that features him as long-time Jeopardy host Alex Trebek in all his mustachioed glory, trying to survive an episode that features pop culture's most irritating personalities as they butcher the long-lived trivia game.

Considering "Celebrity Jeopardy" has become such a staple of the show, there were a lot of viewers who fully expected to see him don the salt-and-pepper 'do and snazz suit to reprise that character as well. So, when the whole episode went by without another round of Tinseltown-centric trivia, Twitter lost it worse than faux French Stewart when he had a final score of -$17,000.

Perhaps Ferrell was simply trying to be respectful of the real-life Trebek, after he had to go on medical hiatus for a few weeks earlier this year following surgery for a subdural hematoma caused by a fall. But with the deluge of Hollywood-related drama of late, it's hard to believe there wasn't enough material for the writers to cobble together the categories for another round of "Celebrity Jeopardy" this week.
