The Best Disney Channel Original Halloween Movies

Prime Video

It's 2025, and even though the world looks a little different than it did back in those glowstick-lit, sugar-fueled Halloween nights, one thing hasn't changed — our love for that cozy, slightly spooky Disney Channel magic. We're talking about the old school hits here, folks. That early 2000s goodness that defined October nights for an entire generation. Halloweentown, which is easily the most iconic Disney Channel Halloween movie ever, still gives us that warm, witchy feeling. And Twitches? A total 2005 classic. Watching Sister, Sister stars Tia and Tamera Mowry step into their witchy alter egos and save a world wrapped in darkness? It's going to be a yes from us.

And let's be real for a second, Hocus Pocus? Even though it's not technically a Disney Channel Original Movie, it counts. Sorry, we don't make the rules.

These movies were the blueprint for what Halloween felt like as a kid. The best part? You can relive all those spooky memories right now on Disney+. Whether you grab the standalone plan starting at $11.99/month, bundle it with Hulu and ESPN starting at $19.99/month, or go all-in with Hulu + Live TV for $89.99/month (currently $64.99/month for three months), you'll have instant access to all your favorite Halloween classics and more than 95 live channels to keep the nostalgia going.

Now, find our favorite Halloween Disney Channel movies to binge below.

We already have a whole article dedicated to this series and for good reason. Halloweentown is the epitome of a Disney Channel Halloween. Witches, family, and just the right amount of spooky charm, it's the movie that made every kid secretly hope their grandma lived in a magical town.

Now, let's talk about one that actually really scared us as kids. Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire. This one taught us a lifelong lesson: never, ever invite a vampire into your home. Seriously, that rule's engraved in our brains forever (and double-checked after watching Sinners this year). Starring the iconic Caroline Rhea (yes, Aunt Hilda from Sabrina the Teenage Witch) this movie proved Disney could do creepy and campy all at once.

Don't Look Under the Bed(1999)

Don't Look Under the Bed is one that almost slipped through the cracks. It's one of those forgotten Disney Channel gems that absolutely shouldn't be overlooked. Creepy, clever, and surprisingly dark for a DCOM, this movie gave us nightmares we didn't see coming (and maybe made us think twice before blaming our Boogeyman for everything).

Twitches (2005)

If you'd told us back in the Sister, Sister days that Tia and Tamera Mowry were destined for magical twin superpowers, we'd have been very confused. But Twitches made it work. This movie is pure early-2000s sparkle and shadow, with just enough heart to balance the chaos. It's the kind of Disney Channel magic that made us believe sisterhood really could save the world.

Can of Worms (1999)

Now this one's a little more out there. Literally. Can of Worms is Disney Channel's weirdest gift to sci-fi kids everywhere. It's about a boy who's convinced he doesn't belong on Earth, accidentally contacts aliens, and suddenly finds himself hosting a whole intergalactic rescue mission. Equal parts bizarre and brilliant, it's the kind of DCOM that makes you wonder what the writers were eating for breakfast, but that's exactly why we love it.

The Scream Team (2002)

Ah, The Scream Team. This one simply does not get nearly enough credit. Released in 2002, it's a ghostly adventure that somehow manages to be both heartwarming and haunting. When two kids team up with a trio of hilarious ghosts, they set out to help their grandfather's spirit move on. It's spooky, it's sentimental, and it's got that perfect early-2000s Disney Channel mix of laughs, loss, and light scares.

Hocus Pocus(1993)

Okay, technically Hocus Pocus isn't a Disney Channel Original Movie — but let's be honest, it might as well be. It was a Halloween season staple on Disney Channel every single year. Released in 1993, this classic stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the delightfully wicked Sanderson sisters, who gave us some of the most iconic scenes in Halloween history (yes, we're still singing "I Put a Spell on You").
