Amazon Prime will continue to be the best of the major streaming services for movie lovers in January 2019, as it adds classic flicks like A Beautiful Mind, Brazil and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (all Jan. 1) and current potential Oscar contenders Leave No Trace (Jan. 3), Beautiful Boy (Jan. 4) and Eighth Grade (Jan. 13).

It's a little quieter on the TV front, the most prominent Prime Original premiering is probably Season 3 of car show The Grand Tour (Jan. 18). But some great shows will be available via Amazon Channels add-ons, like True Detective Season 3 through HBO (Jan. 13) and Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 through CBS All Access (Jan. 17).
