Spending the weekend indoors and not sure what to watch? TV Guide features editor Krutika Mallikarjuna has a few suggestions. Here's what you should stream this weekend.
1. Anne with an E
The plucky orphan returns with brand new adventures in this Netflix period drama based on the classic novel Anne of Green Gables. This season, Anne finds an unlikely home with a spinster and her soft-spoken brother who hasn't settled down yet. The new season heads to Netflix on Friday, July 6.
2. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Jerry Seinfeld brings his popular chat series to Netflix for Season 10. The show features Seinfeld taking well-known figures (mostly comedians) for a drive in one of his hundreds of classic cars while talking about comedy or politics or whatever strikes their fancy. This season's guests include Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kate McKinnon, Dana Carvey, Zach Galifianakis, Alec Baldwin, Hasan Minhaj, Ellen DeGeneres, Tracy Morgan, and the late Jerry Lewis. Catch new episodes when they also arrive on Netflix Friday, July 6.
3. Somebody Feed Phil
In a similar vein as the late Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown, this docu-series features Everybody Loves Raymond creator Phil Rosenthal embarking on a goodwill eating tour around the world. But unlike Bourdain's seminal series, Phil — joined by his family and friends — often ventures to well-known parts of the world. The new season finds him headed to Venice, Dublin, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Capetown and New York. Season 2 premieres Friday, July 6 on Netflix.
4. Sharp Objects
Amy Adams stars in this adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel of the same name. Big Little Lies director Jean-Marc Vallée helms this limited series about a reporter who, fresh from her stint at a mental institution, returns to her hometown to investigate the murder of two young girls. The limited series also stars Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Elizabeth Perkins, Eliza Scanlen, and Matt Craven. It premieres Sunday, July 8 at 9/8c on HBO but you can also stream the episode through HBO Go.
