VIDEO: "The Fox" Becomes the Latest --- and Greatest? --- Viral Hit

Summer's over and with that ends "Blurred Lines"'s reign as the song of the season. Fortunately, we already have a great contender for the song of the fall: "The Fox" by Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis.

While Robin Thicke wondered, "What rhymes with 'hug me?'" this catchy Nordic tune isn't afraid to ask the tough questions, like, "What does the fox say?"

Stumped for an answer? Brothers Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåke, the pair behind Ylvis, offer a wide range of suggestions, like, "Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding," "Wa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pow" and "Joff-tchoff-tchoffo-tchoffo-tchoff."

The quirky video, which gives "Old McDonald" a serious run for its money, was released Tuesday, but didn't seem to hit with an American fan base until Thursdayafter being posted on Pleated Jeans and Gawker. The song also got a huge push on Twitter from celebrity fans, including Felicia Day. "Came into the @geekandsundry office, this is what everyone is watching," The Guild star tweeted. "WATCH EVERY MINUTE OF IT PLEASE FOR YOURSELF!"

But the success of "The Fox" isn't a fluke. Ylvis is a popular and seasoned comedy pair who has been performing since 2000. Ylvis released "The Fox" as part of a promotional campaign for their talk show I Kveld Med YLVIS's upcoming season, but the song soon took on a life of its own (Seth Meyers, please take note when coming up with your own talk show's promotional campaign). 

The duo's newfound fame in America is being largely compared to that of Psy, who was also a popular performer in South Korea before "Gangnam Style" became a hit in the U.S.. Whether or not Ylvis will be able to maintain their stateside fame remains to be seen.
