Marnie is a real mess

Girls' next journey will be down the aisle according to the Season 5 trailer, which HBO released on Wednesday. Check it out:

There's no need to scratch your head about who the lucky bride will be - it's Marnie (Allison Williams) that is dressing in white. We can only assume she's making an ill-fated decision to tie the knot with Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and it is already not the fairy tale you know Marnie has been dreaming about her whole 25 (and a half!) years of life.

Her make-up is a hysterical disaster and Hannah (Lena Dunham) is being "incredibly inappropriate," so you can imagine how it only goes downhill from there. We can make the early bet that Ray (Alex Karpovsky) will be making an objection to stop Marnie from this trainwreck of an idea.

For everyone that doesn't really care about Marnie that much, there are plenty of other things to look forward to. Elijah (Andrew Rannells) will gift us with his beautiful sassy presence and it turns out that lightsabers and Death Stars haven't kept Adam (Adam Driver) away either, so there will be some respite from Hannah's self-reflection and Jessa's (Jemima Kirke) wanderlust ramblings.

We haven't lost Shosh (Zosia Mamet) in Japan either. She's settled right into her trouble free surroundings and will make a trip home for Marnie's nuptials.

While the favorites are returning, everyone should prepare for Girls to start wrapping things up. Dunham has said herself that she has always imagined the show ending after six seasons so Season 5 would be the beginning of these girls finally figuring out their place in the world.

Girls returns Feb. 21 at 10/9c on HBO.
