Black Lightning is getting a special guest star this season. The CW and Warner Bros. announced Thursday that Wayne Brady will be joining the show's third season for a recurring arc as Gravedigger.

Gravedigger, known as Tyson Sykes by day, is a WWII veteran who became a "super soldier" following an experiment that gave him enhanced strength, agility, tactical genius, and hand-to-hand combat expertise. When the war ended, Sykes decided against returning to a segregated America and settled in Markovia instead.

When Brady's arc on Black Lightning kicks off in 2020, Sykes will be on a mission to create a sovereign land for metahumans in Markovia. His plight puts him on a "collision course" with ASA and Black Lightning. Check out a photo of Gravedigger from the Black Lightning comics.
