Watercooler: Extreme Makeover: The Musical!

To quote Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Ty Pennington, talk about bringing down the house.
For its second show of the season, the sobfest took a break from rebuilding floors and walls to raise the roof when guest Kristin Chenoweth stopped by for a little song and dance. Aside from Brian Austin Green on Desperate Housewives, it was the cutest thing on TV last night.
The fun started after the Tony winning (and just plain winning) actress joined Ty and company as they prepped to demo the too-small home of a brother and sister raising a brood of adopted siblings with Down Syndrome. Being her adorable self, Chenoweth asked if they'd ever taken a "Broadway musical" approach to getting the job done, and before you could say "song cue!," the crew burst into a Disney-caliber production number called "This House Has to Go." Even better? The sequence utilized the real construction workers instead of subbing in professional singers and dancers. Sure they weren't the most graceful — DWTS' Bruno would probably give them a 3 — but they were definitely the most game. It's not every project manager who can bust out some sick breakin' moves, ya know?
After all was said, sung and done, the big reveal delivered even bigger emotions. And the theme Pennington went with — a New York-inspired array of rooms designed to give each of the kids a sense of autonomy — was as "wow!" as it was well-timed: October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month and the hour was an awesome way for ABC to open some eyes. And then, of course, fill them with tears of joy.
