Everyone from the Broadway show sang a rendition of Prince's "Purple Rain"and now we're crying
After Thursday night's performance of the musical The Color Purple at New York's Bernard B. Jacobs theater, Jennifer Hudson led the cast in an emotional encore tribute to the Purple One, as they sang "Purple Rain."
Hudson, who considered Prince a friend, reminisced about the last time she saw him, and then belted out a goosebump-inducing take on the ballad.
The Color Purple wasn't the only Broadway show pay tribute to Prince on Thursday -- the cast of Hamilton did a version of "Let's Go Crazy."
