CeeLo Green not returning to The Voice

So who should fill the "Forget You" singer's bedazzled, one-of-a-kind shoes? We round out six great candidates:

Usher
For starters, he already has experience pushing that iconic red button! Like CeeLo, Usher would bring a much-needed R&B and hip-hop influence to the show. Also like CeeLo, Usher is all about showmanship, which means he knows how to play it up for the cameras, whether it be his random bursts of dance or his great wardrobe (specifically his gold sneakers). Most importantly, Usher is one of the show's most competitive coaches which makes him a great sparring partner for previous champs Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

TV's most stylish characters

Shakira
First and foremost, it would nice to see The Voice diversify and include two female coaches in the same cycle. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer wasn't afraid to use being the only woman to her advantage last spring, and from the looks of Season 6, Shakira is back to her old tricks. Christina Aguilera has done the same, albeit to a lesser extent, which means both ladies would be forced to come up with new strategies to recruit contestants for their teams. Also, Shakira is similar to CeeLo in her more diverse song choices that stretch far beyond the reach of traditional top 40 radio — a trait that is appreciated pretty much any time a contestant tries to out-Adele Adele.

Kelly Clarkson
Again, it would be nice to see two female coaches on the same season, assuming that X-Tina comes back for Season 7. Not only does Clarkson boast coaching experience from her stint on ABC's short-lived Duets, but she also served as a mentor for Team Blake on The Voice and was a contestant on that other singing show not so long ago. The "Since U Been Gone" singer has been through the best of times and the worst of times over her career, which makes us think she wouldn't be afraid to tell her team how things really work in the music biz. Plus: With Kelly on the show, Blake would be forced to play a something more than the "I'm-a-country-singer" card.

TV couples: Should they or shouldn't they?

Pharrell Williams
The Voice could definitely benefit from having a seasoned music producer as one of the coaches — so why shouldn't it be the Grammy winner for Producer of the Year? Unlike Simon Cowell or Randy Jackson pre-American Idol, Pharrell is already a household name thanks to his vocal contributions to two of 2013's biggest hits, "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky." During his time as a battle round advisor for Team Usher last spring, Pharrell put his great ear to good use. Not to mention, his daring fashion choices might just — dare we say? — top CeeLo's glitter!

Justin Timberlake
OK, we know this one is kind of a long shot, but it could happen! Christina's former Mickey Mouse Club co-star and touring mate would bring a more retro vibe to the singing competition, in addition to that irresistible Southern charm (Blake who?). Thanks to his extensive acting experience, JT would also make an entertaining presence on camera when he's not trading adorable inside jokes with Christina or getting into fake arguments with Adam over contestants. (Can't you just see it already?). Timberlake has always been about focusing on the craft — which is why fans had to wait so long for the The 20:20 Experience — so he seems like the type of coach that would push his acts out of their comfort zones week in and week out.

Alicia Keys
Christina has long held the title of the supreme voice on The Voice, but wouldn't it be refreshing to see a talent who could make a play for the throne? Keys would not only represent the R&B and hip-hop genre, but she's a unique triple threat in her abilities as a powerhouse vocalist, skilled pianist and long-time songwriter. That last talent could become especially handy after last season's three finalists each performed an original song written by the show's first-ever in-house producer and songwriter, OneRepublic lead singer Ryan Tedder.
The Voice returns for Season 6 on Monday, Feb. 24 at 8/7c on NBC. Who do you think should replace CeeLo Green?
