"It's a trap!"

Those three words, spoken by Star Wars character Admiral Ackbar in Return of the Jedi, have gone down in pop culture infamy but sadly, the man behind them has died.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, voice actor Erik Bauersfeld died in his home on Sunday at the age of 93.

In addition to Ackbar (who Bauersfeld returned to voice in The Force Awakens), the former radio producer also voiced Jabba the Hutt's staffer, Bib Fortuna, in Jedi. And while his overall career in voice over was limited, Bauersfeld also made appearances in Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak andSteven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

Bauersfeld got the part of Ackbar when Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt asked him to read for it. According to the actor, he had a voice for the character in mind the moment he saw a picture of the admiral.

Bauersfeld will make his final on screen appearance in the Australian documentary My Saga, which examines the ways in which the Star Wars franchise has touched lives globally.

Cause of death remains unknown.
