Jesus Christ is getting the Hollywood treatment once again, and life is still rough for the guy. National Geographic Channel has announced a premiere date and released the first trailer for Killing Jesus, the latest production in the network's Killing [Someone] series.

14 wildest celebrity wardrobe slip-ups

The three-hour special will air Sunday, March 29 at 8/7c on National Geographic Channel, and the fact that March 29 is Palm Sunday is no coincidence. The network may be looking to get a head start on Bible-related programming, as NBC will debut A.D., its sequel to The Bible, one week later on Easter Sunday (April 5).

Killing Jesus is based on the book of the same name by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard and chronicles the life and death of Jesus Christ. Haaz Sleiman plays Jesus, Kelsey Grammer wears the crown of King Herod the Great and True Blood's Stephen Moyer portrays Pontius Pilate. The program is the third National Geographic Channel special based on O'Reilly and Dugard's books, following Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy.
