He's making waves already

Colonel Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) has only just arrived at Angels Memorial on Season 2 of Code Black and he's already making waves.

The new trailer is the first footage of Lowe in his new TV role. He's beefed up, clean-cut and ready to make some big changes. The actor was brought in to the sophomore season to help revitalize the drama -- and it looks like he's succeeding.

Here are CBS' fall premiere dates

Lowe's character Willis is a trauma medic from the military and he's ready to bring his knowledge to the Los Angeles hospital. One of his first cases involves taking a trauma helicopter to rescue a patient on the beach, but on the ride back, one of his interns falls from the helicopter.

It's going to be an injury that hits Willis hard and will set a serious tone for his new tenure at the hospital. At least Dr. Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) has his back -- but things are definitely not getting off to the right start for the new doc.

Code Black Season 2 premieres Sept. 28 at 10/9c.
