Desperate times call for desperate measures
Vida's Season 2 trailer gave fans a glimpse at what's to come when the hit Starz series returns May 23, but a new, in-depth teaser for the upcoming season goes even further to explain what's on Emma (Mishel Prada) and Lyn's (Melissa Barrera) minds over the coming episodes.
As the sometimes-strained sisters dig in their heels to save their late mother's bar, all sorts of unforeseen challenges arise -- including pushback from folks in their own East L.A. community who feel they're as guilty of gentrification as the outsiders are. This exclusive clip shows how Emma, who's liquidated everything to make the bar successful, feels the weight of her sister's perceived ineptitude even more, while Lyn -- who's closer to her mom's surviving partner, Eddy (Ser Anzoategui) -- swears off sex (uh huh, sure) to focus on the family business too.
"Lyn is kind of like the mediator between Emma and Eddy," Melissa Barrera says in the clip. "There's a lot of tension there."
As a result, one of the central themes of the season becomes, as Mishel Prada puts it, "What is family really?"
