Everything's self-destructing in the first full trailer for Hulu's Veronica Mars revival -- including Veronica's relationship.

Friday's all-new trailer puts Kristen Bell's titular private investigator in a tough spot as someone targets Neptune's spring breakers, and it looks like America's Dad Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni) is getting worried. Veronica's romance with Logan (Jason Dohring) doesn't seem to be faring much better.

"What's the destructive gene in your relationship?" asks nightclub owner Nicole (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).

"I think it might be me," Veronica admits.

In addition to Howell-Baptiste, the trailer offers a closer look at new player J.K. Simmons as ex-con Clyde Prickett, who's definitely into some shady business.

Everything We Know About the Veronica Mars Revival

The drama in Hulu's eight-episode limited series kicks off when spring breakers in Neptune start turning up dead. When the parents of one of the victims enlist Mars Investigations to look into their son's death, Veronica is pulled into an "epic mystery" that "pits the enclave's wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast's answer to Daytona Beach."

In other words, it's business as usual on Veronica Mars -- though Hulu president Craig Erwich has promised that the revival of the beloved neo-noir series, which first ran on UPN and The CW before returning for a 2014 movie, won't just be reliving the glory days. This series will tread on new territory. Erwich told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the story "is very true to the character. It is very true to the world. It's true to the tone of the show and what made people fall in love with the show. But it's definitely an update. She's not a little girl anymore. You'll see her deal with contemporary issues in a contemporary world."

Original cast members Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, and Ryan Hansen are set to return, as are recurring players like Max Greenfield and Ken Marino. Creator Rob Thomas previously confirmed to TV Guide that Tina Majorino will not return as Mac.

New faces in the revival include Patton Oswalt, Izabela Vidovic, and Clifton Collins Jr.

Veronica Mars returns July 26 on Hulu.
