"Eleanor Roosevelt, Cleopatra, Elizabeth the First. That's the kind of company I want to keep."

In USA's new miniseries, Political Animals, former First Lady and current Secretary of State Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver in her first TV series role) just wants to make a difference.

Unfortunately, everyone else would rather focus on her former husband's "less than flattering moments" (aka his frequent infidelity) while in office rather than her politics. The series, from Brothers & Sisters's Greg Berlanti , follows a now-divorced Elaine as she navigates Washington with her ex-husband's baggage in tow (Rome's Ciarán Hinds as the former leader of the free world). She also must deal with an ambitious reporter dying to get the scoop (Carla Gugino), her outspoken mother (Ellen Burstyn), and two sons who had very different experiences growing up in the public eye as the First Children (Lone Star's James Wolk and Captain America's Sebastian Stan).
