Up All Night Adds Sean Hayes, Drops the Ava Show

There are some big changes coming to NBC's Up All Night.As it heads into its second season, the series is undergoing a major makeover and dropping Ava, the show-within-a-show hosted by Maya Rudolph's character. In moving away from Reagan's workplace, Up All Night will begin to focus more on "smaller, lower-key home stories," according to The Huffington Post.

But don't fear, Ava isn't going anywhere — and she's getting a new friend! Sean Hayes has booked a multi-episode arc as Ava's former accompanist.Fans of the series will remember Ava once had a bustling music career with hits such as "Back It Up (Beep Beep)" and "Basically." The addition of Hayes' character from her chart-topping past will hopefully mean Ava has a bit of a music career revival.Up All Night premieres Thursday, Sept. 20 and 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
