Which One Tree Hill Alum Is Joining CBS’ Extant?

Tyler Hilton is trading in his guitar for a computer, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The musician and One Tree Hill alum has signed on to CBS'  sci-fi drama Extant opposite Halle Berry. He'll recur as Charlie, the chief coder of the Humanichs Project, which sits at the center of the series.

Described as a bit socially awkward when he's outside the lab, all of that falls away at work where he's comfortable. It remains unclear whether Charlie will constantly refer to himself in the third person a la Hilton's OTH alter ego Chris Keller, or if the musician will have the opportunity to show off his musical chops.

Produced by Steven Spielberg, Greg Walker, and Mickey Fisher, Extant stars Berry as an astronaut who returns home from a solo mission to space to find out she's pregnant. Goran Visnjic, Pierce Gagnon, Annie Wersching, and Grace Gummer also star.
