Bachelor's Trish Is a Woman Scorned

It's "kill or be killed" in the reality world, and that's a philosophy former The Bachelor beauty Trish Schneider truly embraced in the new E! movie, The Scorned. If you watched any of Kill Reality — the Real World-like series that captured The Scorned's filming — you've seen Trish trying to scare up some fun on screen while trying not to kill any costars off screen. Considering that the oft-disgusting Jonny Fairplay literally, um, dumped on her bed and she didn't fly off the handle, she did pretty well. TVGuide.com caught up with Trish as she was preparing for the movie to hit the airwaves.

TVGuide.com: Can you talk a little about your Scorned character? We only saw a bit of it on the show.
Trish Schneider: The premise of the movie is that my fiancé (Bachelor's Bob Guiney) and I move into a house. To save money, we let my best friend move in, and Bob winds up hooking up with her. I walk in on them, we have a nasty fight, and I get a fireplace poker slashed across my throat and end up falling into a hot tub — reality TV always has to have a hot tub. As I lie in a comatose state at the hospital, my spirit comes back to haunt the new people who have moved into our house.

TVGuide.com: Are you a horror film fan?
Trish: I am. I don't really watch a lot of TV and I don't watch a lot of movies, either, which is kind of funny. Most people in reality TV watch reality, but I don't.

TVGuide.com: Not having watched much reality TV, did you know any of your housemates going into the project?
Trish: No. I had heard of the different people, but I had never watched any of their shows. I was only familiar with Fairplay because of the whole grandmother thing.

TVGuide.com: Wow, so you really had no idea what you were getting into!
Trish: Nope.

TVGuide.com: We'll get to Fairplay in a minute, but did you make friends with anybody?
Trish: I would say [The Amazing Race's] Reichen and [The Apprentice's] Stacie J. and then [Survivor's] Jenna Morasca.

TVGuide.com: Stacie J. seems to get a bad rap….
Trish: We all get a bad rap in reality TV.

TVGuide.com:  Knowing very little about Jonny Fairplay, I'm surprised you didn't kill him by the end of the show!
Trish: After the first time around with The Bachelor, I kind of wanted to keep a low profile on this one. Things would have been a little different if the cameras weren't [documenting the production]. He'll get his in the end — I'm not too concerned. He's a vile individual. I don't understand how he's 32 years old and doesn't have a job.

TVGuide.com: When I saw his "excrement incident," I wondered how an adult human being could do that to another person!
Trish: I don't understand either, but I've got other more important things to worry about than him.

TVGuide.com: Does the Scorned experience make you want to do more acting?
Trish: Yeah. I originally wanted to do movies [so] I wanted to see if I was any good at acting. I might [act more], I might not, you never know. It was such a great opportunity that I couldn't turn down. I was a little bit wary of stepping back into the reality-TV world, but it went hand in hand. I didn't really have a choice. In the end I was on the set every day. Whether you saw me doing stuff or not, I was constantly doing stuff for the movie.

TVGuide.com: Did you learn a lot of behind-the-scenes tips on how to make the movie?
Trish: I model and I do commercials for a living, so I'm used to being on set and being around production. None of that was a learning experience. It was more [about trying to be] challenged.

TVGuide.com: It seems like you're very professional, while some of the other houseguests were in it more to have fun. Did that bother you?
Trish: It's a balance. I just learned to not concern myself with it. At the end of the day, it only matters that I was professional and I showed up on time and did a good job. What other people do is entirely up to them.

TVGuide.com: Do you think people who aren't interested in reality TV will still get a kick out of The Scorned?
Trish: I think it will definitely be entertaining nonetheless. Whether you love everyone or hate everyone, people are going to tune in. I'm hoping by the time it's all put together and edited, with the music added and stuff, it's going to be pretty good.

TVGuide.com: Would you do a sequel if the opportunity presented itself?
Trish: I enjoyed working with the director and the crew and — minus the craziness in the house — I had a lot of fun. I would do it again.
