Anne Hathaway, a player in 2005's Brokeback Mountain, 2006's The Devil Wears Prada and the upcoming Love and Other Drugs, presides over tonight's lampooning bits and skits. She welcomes musical guest Florence and the Machine, Brit-based alt-rock practitioners headed by vocalist Florence Welch and orchestrators of the 2009 CD Lungs. — Dean Maurer

Play ball! The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame take the field against the Black Knights of Army at Yankee Stadium. What most years might be considered a mismatch could be an interesting game this season. Army has already clinched bowl eligibility, and wins here today and against Navy in a few weeks could be a real plus for this program. The Irish need a win here today or a win over USC next weekend to get into the bowl picture, but they have lost many of their key personnel to injuries. — Dave Roeder
The Night Before the Night Before Christmas

Hallmark's holiday-movie season shifts into high gear as the net prepares to debut multiple original movies in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Tonight's installment stars Jennifer Beals and Rick Roberts, who play busy working parents whose lives are interrupted by an unexpected visitor: Santa Claus. The jolly old man accidentally crashes his sleigh into their home, giving him a case of amnesia and threatening to ruin Christmas. — Brie Hearn

What do you get when you pair a charismatic rock front man like Train's Pat Monahan with a sexy country siren like Martina McBride? Really good television, you'd think. McBride is no stranger to this venerable show, having memorably shared the stage here with another rocker she admires, Pat Benatar, in 2003. And with Train's incredible run of late, it's hard to imagine that they won't rise to the occasion as well. Songs include "Drops of Jupiter," "A Broken Wing," "Wrong Baby Wrong" and "Hey, Soul Sister." — Fred Mitchell
