Disney stars and real-life BFFs Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez give appealing performances in this charming 2009 cable comedy that tweens will likely devour. Lovato is pampered princess Rosalinda Marie Montoya Fiore, who is soon to be crowned queen of her tiny nation, Costa Luna. But a neighboring dictator launches a military coup, and Rosalinda is rescued by the Princess Protection Program and relocated to rural Louisiana. There she rooms with Carter (Gomez), a local teen who is her polar opposite. Sparks fly. But a budding friendship is also ignited. — Tim Holland

Originally commissioned as a series pilot that had sci-fi blogs salivating, this futuristic thriller from Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore finally takes off as a two-hour movie. The story takes place on the Phaeton, a spaceship from Earth which is outfitted with a virtual-reality device to distract the crew from a do-or-die mission. But what will happen to these astronauts — and their planet — when the system goes haywire? Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Clea DuVall and Sienna Guillory star. — Joe Friedrich

The teams take a field trip to New York's Little Italy tonight to shop for authentic Italian ingredients and to prepare for a lunch service. Aside from the usual undercover food critic, celebrity foodies are also in the house as Vincent Pastore, Frederico Castelluccio and Mario Batali give their thoughts on the teams' service. But the amore doesn't flow freely in the restaurants: The food critic gives one of the harshest reviews yet, and Marco isn't too happy about it. — Brie Hearn

Earnest Canadian pop-rock singer-songwriter Bryan Adams and Georgian contemporary country singer-guitarist Jason Aldean were both early bloomers, starting their musical careers at age 14. Here, they find musical common ground by performing each other's songs together and talking about their music. The songs include the veteran Adams' evocative "Summer of '69," the romantic power ballad "Heaven" (a heartfelt acoustic rendition) and "Run to You," and relative newcomer Aldean's "She's Country" and "Hicktown." — Fred Mitchell

The cable net isn't short on laughs this weekend as Martin Short presides over this rib-tickling event, one of several comedy showcases culled from the 2009 Just for Laughs comedy festival. (Ellen's Bigger, Longer and Wider Show airs tomorrow; Comedy You Can Believe in with David Alan Grier is presented on Sunday.) Here, Short goes long in Chicago, bringing together performances by comics Greg Giraldo, Jeremy Hotz, Kathleen Madigan, Tom Papa and John Pinette. — Dean Maurer
