Bright lights, big city, indeed. Hosts Al Roker and Jane Krakowski pull the switch in tonight's 76th annual Christmas-tree lighting in Manhattan, a grand gala twinkling with time-honored holiday songs and current hits. Putting the glow in the event are R&B songstress Beyoncé, teen sensation Miley Cyrus, cool crooner Tony Bennett, jazz pianist-vocalist Harry Connick Jr. and pop phenoms the Jonas Brothers. Also on hand: American Idol winner David Cook; country artists Faith Hill and Rascal Flatts; and Solange Knowles (Beyoncé's kid sister). And there's a Colbert report of sorts, with Stephen Colbert rounding out the show to tickle the funny bone. — Dean Maurer

Grammy Nominations Concert Live! — Countdown to Music's Biggest Night
9 pm/ET CBS
Why didn't someone think of this before? For the first time in the Grammy's 51-year history, the 2009 nominations (well, at least six top categories) will be announced live in a one-hour special. The Grammys are well-suited for such an event because they can include performances from likely nominees and past winners. Tonight's stellar lineup (Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, the Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer, Taylor Swift) have won a combined 39 Grammys. And that's not counting host LL Cool J's two trophies! — Tim Holland

Pushing Daisies
8 pm/ET ABC
Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines "comfort food" as "food prepared in a traditional style having a usually nostalgic or sentimental appeal." But when Ned and Olive take part in a comfort-food competition tonight, nostalgia and sentiment are not on the menu after a chef is found dead. — Joe Friedrich

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
10 pm/ET CBS
Usher has tons of adoring fans, many of them, of course, female, but tonight he is the envy of most men in America, if not the world. Why? He's the sole performer on the 2008 edition of the annual lingerie showcase. That means he's surrounded by barely clothed supermodels Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selita Ebanks, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr and Marisa Miller in hot, hot, hot Miami Beach. Nice work if you can get it. — Tim Holland

Law & Order
10 pm/ET NBC
Worlds collide when the babe best known for being a hotheaded Colonial viper pilot finds herself embroiled in a murder investigation in the Big Apple. Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff plays a hard-as-nails woman with a reason to pull the trigger in a case that briefly puts Detective Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) on the wrong side of the law. — Michael Chant
