A small plane on the set of the Tom Cruise movie Mena crashed in Colombia on Friday, killing two people and seriously injuring a third, The Associated Press reports.

American film pilot Alan Purwin and Colombian Carlos Berl were killed when the twin-engine plane ran into bad weather and crashed in the Colombian Andes. The only survivor, American pilot Jimmy Lee Garland, was rushed to the hospital in Medellin, where he was in intensive care. Cruise was not on the flight.

A spokesperson for Universal, which is distributing the Pablo Escobar film, released a statement to People: "An aircraft carrying crew members crashed while returning to Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellin following production wrap on the film Mena resulting in two fatalities. Further details are not available at this time. On behalf of the production, our hearts and prayers go out to the crew members and their families at this difficult time."
