Tom Brokaw told his NBC colleagues Sunday that his cancer is in remission, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"A year ago my future was more uncertain than I cared to acknowledge but now I face the New Year with very encouraging news," Brokaw wrote in an email obtained by THR. "The cancer is in remission and I will shortly go on a drug maintenance regimen to keep it there."
Brokaw, 74, was diagnosed earlier this year with multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that affects blood cells in bone marrow.
