Mother of Blush's Todd Homme Starts Charity

Todd Homme's mother is starting a charity foundation for aspiring makeup artists to honor the 23-year-old Blush contestant, who died in his sleep earlier this month.
"He told everybody that he wanted to help underprivileged kids," Marianne Amster said in an interview with TVGuide.com. "I'm going to dedicate the rest of my life to helping kids. ... After Christmas, that's what my life is going to be. I think that's what he would want."
The Todd Wallace Memorial Fund, which uses Homme's real name, will help children who want to become makeup artists but don't have access to training or supplies. She also hopes to give money to the Boys and Girls Club, because Homme spent much of his youth in Tucson, Ariz., at the local branch.
Amster also plans to give away Homme's brushes, makeup, and other supplies to schools. Many can't afford the $10,000-$15,000 that Homme invested in supplies for his art, she said.
Nolan Makaawaawa, of Costa Mesa, Calif., won the Lifetime reality competition between makeup artists. A representative for the network did not immediately return a call for comment Monday.
