TNT Pulls Plug on Jada Pinkett Smith Drama HawthoRNe

After hemorrhaging viewership in its third season, TNT's HawthoRNe has been taken off of life support. The network announced Friday that it will not renew the medical drama, starring Jada Pinkett Smith as the head nurse at a Richmond, Va., hospital. The third season, which ended on Aug. 16 with a cliff-hanger, drew 2.86 million viewers. The network announced Friday that it will not renew the medical drama, starring Jada Pinkett Smith as the head nurse at a Richmond, Va., hospital. TNT cancels Men of a Certain Age

"TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe," the network said in a statement. "TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in HawthoRNe. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show's talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with HawthoRNe nothing but the best."

News follows the cancellation of TNT's acclaimed Men of a Certain Ageafter two seasons. No word yet on the future of sophomore series Memphis Beat, which also wrapped on Aug. 16.
