All-American Muslim is no more.
TLC's reality series about five Lebanese American Muslim families living in Dearborn, Mich., has not been renewed for a second season, TVGuide.com has confirmed. The Detroit Free Press first reported the news.
All-American Muslim premiered in November with respectable numbers, drawing 1.7 million viewers, but by its finale seven episodes later, only attracted 900,000 viewers.
During its run, however, the show drew criticism from the Florida Family Association, a conservative group that protested that the program was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values." In response, home-improvement retailer Lowe's pulled its advertising from the show, and others such as Kayak.com also fled.
