Tia Mowry has a brand new 'do.

The Sister, Sister star recently debuted a drastically short pixie cut and admits the change was an emotional one. "I cried! I'm just going to be honest with you, I definitely cried," Mowry, 34, told Us Weekly.  "I really wasn't expecting the shock value. A lot of people ask me, 'What advice would you give to women who want to chop it off?' I said, 'Don't think about it because if you do you won't do it.' But it's very liberating and it definitely saves time."

She is the latest celebrity -- including Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway and Lena Dunham -- to go the gamine route and chop it all off. Mowry's new haircut allows her more time to spend with her growing son, Cree Taylor, whom she gave birth to in June 2011. "I am so happy that I decided to cut my hair. It literally takes me three minutes to do my hair," she said. "I get out of the shower, put some conditioner in it, and it's just 'Let's go,' and I love that!"

Mowry left her BET series The Game earlier this year, and Tia & Tamera, her Style Network reality show with her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley, returns with new episodes on Tuesday at 9/8c. She also stars in the upcoming ABC Family holiday movie Mistle-Tones.
