The Thursday Playlist: American Idol Results, a Glee Milestone and Raj Gets a Second Date

Will Nicki Minaj's "wife" Kree make the cut? How about Devin, the (quoting Nicki again) "Spanish Ken doll?" And could this be the end of the road for such curiosities as Zoanette "What's Tone Got To Do With It" Johnson and the appropriately named Charlie Askew? All will be revealed as Fox's American Idol moves back to Hollywood for a 90-minute live results show (8/7c), where America decides this year's Top 10 — but I wouldn't be surprised if the judges get a "wild card" pick should one or more of their faves fail to capture the voters' attention.

Sticking with the musical theme, Fox extends its usual prime-time frame a half-hour later, with Glee airing at 9:30/8:30c, marking its 500th musical performance number (the rousing "Shout," immortalized in Animal House) in an episode built around songs from the movies. Back in New York, Santana is proving "three's a crowd" as she sets up home in Rachel and Kurt's loft.

WHAT'S NEW?
Not a heck of a lot on a night otherwise overrun with repeats — including on ABC, which replaces its latest dud Zero Hour with a Shark Tank rerun — though Idol once again faces tough competition from a fresh episode of CBS' The Big Bang Theory (8/7c), in which Raj plans a second date with Lucy (Raising Hope's Kate Micucci), hoping it goes better this time. The rest of the guys are busy talking science to a group of junior high girls. Anyone else hearing crickets? ... It's Thanksgiving on NBC's Community (8/7c), with James Brolin appearing as Jeff's long-distant dad, while the other study buddies gather to awkwardly break bread at Shirley's. ... As if we needed a reminder about how strained the premise of CBS' Two and a Half Men (8:31/7:31c) has become, Alan moves out on Walden after a fight, taking temporary (we assume) shelter with Herb, his ex's ex. Why would Alan ever be welcomed anywhere? ... On CBS' Person of Interest (9:01/8:01c), Reese and Finch enter Agatha Christie territory, trapped during a storm in a police station with strangers, one of whom is a killer. ... FX stars Dayton Callie (Sons of Anarchy) and Nick Searcy (Justified) are among the guest voices on another fabulously inappropriate episode of FX's animated Archer (10/9c), which takes the spy to the Mexican border, where his attraction to an alluring immigrant-smuggling "coyote" bites him right where you'd expect. ... FX's late-night aggravation BrandX With Russell Brand (11/10c) sends the host back to his London stomping grounds for two weeks, with guests including Eddie Izzard and musician Noel Gallagher. ... Vintage couture is on display in Smithsonian Channel's docu-reality series L.A. Frock Stars (8/7c), set at Doris Raymond's "The Way We Wore" Hollywood boutique, which in the opener welcomes burlesque beauty Dita von Teese and a costume designer from Glee.
