Talk about a dream come true - one of The X-Files' biggest fans will be guest-starring in an episode of the upcoming series revival.
Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani will be appearing in one of the show's episodes, the actor announced over the weekend. He posted a photo of himself with series stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, with a caption that read, "The lighting is weird because there is a UFO right above our heads."

"I got to be in an ep of my favorite show," he wrote in a later tweet. "And this script is wonderful."

This new X-Files teaser will make you want to believe
Nanjiani is outspoken about his love for the show and currently hosts The X-Files Files podcast, which yes, is him and guests talking about episodes. While he may or may not book Anderson or Duchovny for his show, he did get a pretty sweet opportunity for some behind-the-scenes audio while on set:
We were shooting nights. It was 3 AM. Gillian & David were reminiscing about the show. She looked at me & said "You should record this."
So I did. I recorded them swapping stories, laughing. I don't know how the quality is cuz it was on my phone. But I hope to release it soon.
