The long wait until the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead is almost over... But it's still a pretty long wait, as the October 23 episode is more than a month away. Don't worry, TVGuide.com is here to help, with five exclusive portraits of cast members Steven Yeun and Austin Amelio!
Steven Yeun is well known as fan favorite former pizza delivery boy Glenn Rhee, who's been through the ringer over the past season. First, he was left for dead under a pile of zombies (and one dead frenemy), until he crawled under a dumpster to safety. Then, after his long trek home to reunite with his lady love Maggie (Lauren Cohan), they were split apart and threatened by the villainous, baseball bat wielding Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
And if the TV show matches up to the comics, this is the last time we'll get AMC's official portraits for Yeun: in the books, Glenn doesn't survive his first encounter with Negan -- or his trusty bat Lucille.
That's partially due to the actions of new series regular Amelio, playing Negan's right hand (and left-ear missing) man, Dwight. We first met Dwight last season when he tussled with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), stealing Daryl's signature bike and crossbow. Daryl got it back, and then Dwight got revenge by shooting the poor house-cat-in-human-form Daryl in the shoulder.
This year, Dwight is taking center stage, romping around once again in stolen goods -- this time, he has "borrowed" Daryl's angel wing leather jacket -- and navigating the zombie apocalypse all on his lonesome (or at least, that's how it seems from the scant footage AMC has released so far).
Will Dwight stay on Negan's good side? Or do his burns -- which showed up between his first and most recent appearances on the show -- indicate that all is not well in Mudville? Regardless, he takes center stage in this new photos, as well.
If that wasn't enough, we've got three more exclusive photos for you to take a gander at. Good thing you've got plenty of time to sift through them for clues before October 23.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 23 at 9/8c.
