The aliens of Roswell are getting a little more lycanthropic.

Michael Trevino — best known for playing werewolf Tyler Lockwood on The Vampire Diaries — is joining the cast of The CW's Roswell reboot pilot, TVLine reports.

Trevino will play Kyle Valenti, the popular son of the town sheriff who grows uncomfortable with the silver spoon he was born with after he learns some dark family history. He'll be supporting Grey's Anatomy's Jeanine Mason, who plays Liz Ortecho, a biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants with a tragic backstory and a crush on an alien, played by The Originals' Nathan Parsons.

The Roswell pilot is written by The Originals' Carina Adly MacKenzie and is a reboot of the WB/UPN teen drama that ran from 1999 to 2002. The original Roswell is available to stream on Hulu.
