The Rockford Files Actor Joe Santos Dies at 84
Santos earned an Emmy nomination in 1979
Joe Santos, who played Lt. Dennis Becker on The Rockford Files, has died, TMZ reports. According to his son, the actor suffered a heart attack on Monday and passed away Friday morning in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 84.
Santos was best known for his role on The Rockford Files, playing James Garner's title character's cop friend. He was nominated for an Emmy for the role in 1979. He also appeared on MacGyver, Magnum P.I. and The Sopranos.
Santos was born in Brooklyn on June 9, 1931. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
