He doesn't take it well, obviously
Hospital politics are getting in the way of saving lives again on The Resident, but in next Monday's (Feb. 26) episode, it's Conrad (Matt Czuchry) and Nic (Emily VanCamp) who are playing on opposite sides.
Nic's patient Christine needs emergency surgery, but it's been scheduled concurrently with surgery on a patient of Bell's (Bruce Greenwood), and considering Bell has trouble keeping one patient at a time alive everyone knows not to give him two. Nic decides to intervene and ask Jude (Warren Christie) if he can squeeze the surgery into his schedule instead. It'll be "tight" but he can do it.

Fitting in a "tight" surgery is less than ideal for Conrad. He'd prefer to move Christine to a different hospital and allow her to get the treatment from a doctor with an open schedule rather than risk something going wrong with Jude. But transferring patients doesn't really fit into the hospital's "We love money!" mantra and if Conrad gets caught moving the patient, his head is going to be on a platter.
Nic and Jude's plan inevitably wins out but there's obviously a bad feeling about it. Is Conrad going to be able to leave Christine's fate up to luck or is he going to go rogue to save her?
The Resident airs Mondays at 9/c on Fox.
