USA is bringing The Purge from the big screen to your living room, but don't worry — you'll still get all the horror and gore you're used to from this franchise.

Based on the horrifying movie franchise where the US government decided to make all crime legal for one night a year, The Purge TV series chronicles the same night over the course of 10 episodes. In this dystopian horror world, crime may have virtually disappeared during the rest of the year, but on Purge night, violence knows no bounds.

At its heart, The Purge reckons with the subdued dark impulses of the human race while also highlighting the lengths we will go to in order to project the ones we love. The series synopsis promises that "as the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night."

So seriously, why go to the movie theater to be scared out of your mind for two hours when you could watch a 10-hour version of the same thing from under the comfort of your totally psycho-repellant covers?

The Purge premieres Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 10/9c on USA.
