The Perfectionists is a man down after Caitlin (Sydney Park) was hit by a mystery driver in last week's episode of the Pretty Little Liars spin-off. That puts another mystery on the board along with who killed Nolan Hotchkiss (Chris Mason) and who has been blackmailing the trio since he was killed.
Finding out who hit Caitlin will become a top priority for the perfectionists though, along with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Mona (Janel Parrish) as we move into the second half of the season. "Caitlin is very much in shock [when she wakes up], but she also has a tendency to deflect and suppress her emotions, so her friends, the perfectionists, kind of unite with her and try to make her feel as comfortable as possible while also trying to figure out who hit her," Park told TV Guide ahead of Wednesday's episode.
Who could have hit Caitlin and left her for dead though? The list is actually kind of impressive. We presented the suspect options for Park and she weighed in on the theories for who was behind that white sports car.
1. Mason (Noah Gray-Cabey)
Motive: Caitlin (and the rest of the trio) tried to blackmail him into getting him to admit he's the one who killed Nolan. When that didn't work, Caitlin hit him in the head and left him for dead in a secluded cabin. We know he woke up before the end of the episode and getting to Caitlin would probably be his first priority, right? Running her over would make it so she couldn't spill his secrets.
Park's Perspective: "I'm going to give him a six [out of 10]. Mason has a lot of layers, and we kind of learn more that he's not what he appears to be," Park teased. "That is the obvious choice and we know in the PLL world it is never is the obvious choice."
2. Taylor (Hayley Erin) or Claire Hotchkiss (Kelly Rutherford)
Motive: Taylor (Hayley Erin) bailed from Alison's place — could she have hit Caitlin on her way back to obscurity? We posited the idea to Park, but she pitched a different Hotchkiss as the real culprit.
Park's Perspective: "I have a theory that it could be Claire," Park suggested. "That's something that's not going to be resolved for a bit, so the Hotchkiss family [is suspect]."
3. Jeremy (Graeme Thomas King)
Motive: Older British boyfriends have not been too reliable within the Pretty Little Liars franchise, so maybe it's time to look at Caitlin's too-good-to-be-true hook-up partner. He has been having meetings of his own with Claire Hotchkiss. Maybe he's working for her on the DL and hitting Caitlin was part of her bidding — or he just got really jealous and decided to hit Caitlin because she was having secret rendezvous with other men!
Park's Perspective: "I'm going to give that a four, because Jeremy is so in love with Caitlin that he could never physically hurt her, but that is interesting!" Park said. "Everyone is a suspect."
Motive: We still don't know who Mona was working with when she was talking to mirrors in the premiere. If she's working with Hotchkiss Industries or the one keeping Beacon Guard in tact, would she be ruthless enough to hit Caitlin? It wouldn't be her first hit and run.
Park's Perspective: "I never thought of that, but it's a really good theory!" Park said. "I'm going to give that a seven."
