There's an exciting new show headed to the CW this summer.

The network has added the fantasy-adventure series The Outpost to its summer lineup. It will air alongside the likes of The 100, The Originals' final season, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, the second half of Supergirl's third season and Masters of Illusion.

The show was created by Jason Faller and Kynan Griffin of Arrowstorm Entertainment and will feature Stargate's Dean Devlin and Stargate SG-1's Jonathan Glassner as executive producers.

The story follows Talon (played by Ash vs Evil Dead's Jessica Green), who is the lone survivor of a race called the "blackbloods" who were wiped out by a gang of mercenaries. She travels to the edge of the world to track down her family's murderers and en route, discovers that she wields a mysterious supernatural power. The last of her kind, she must learn to control it if she intends to save the world from a fanatical religious dictator.

The series also stars Extinct alum Jake Stormoen, Nocturnal Animals actress Imogen Waterhouse, Hell on Wheels' Andrew Howard, Emmerdale's Anand Desai-Barochia and Top of the Lake's Robyn Malcolm.

The Outpost is expected to arrive sometime this summer.
