And we are extremely here for it
In AMC's upcoming limited series The Little Drummer Girl, my favorite actor Michael Shannon plays Kurtz, an Israeli spy. And Michael Shannon, who commits scarily hard to everything he does, puts on an Israeli accent for the series, which we now know from the trailer that was released Monday. It's weird, but in a good way! He also wears creep glasses and a big mustache, but the show is set in the '70s, so that's less weird.
The limited series is based on a classic espionage novel by John le Carré and also stars Florence Pugh and Alexander Skårsgard and features a cameo by le Carré himself. Pugh plays Charlie, a struggling actress who Kurtz recruits to play a part in a clandestine operation. Skårsgard plays Becker, her handler, with whom she strikes up an illicit affair. It's a sexy, twisty, '70s-colored good time, directed by Oldboy's Park Chan-wook.
The Little Drummer Girl is a six-part limited series. It will air over three nights starting Monday, Nov. 19 at 9/8c on AMC.
